Scrum Master Certified (SMC™)
Scrum Master Certified (SMC™) prepares candidates to become Scrum Master. Scrum is an agile project management methodology utilized in software development projects. Scrum Masters lead Scrum Teams to deliver products iteratively and incrementally. This means building small parts of the solution, presenting to the customer, and using the customer feedback to improve the product. A Scrum Master is a facilitator who ensures that the Scrum Team is provided with an environment conducive to completing the project successfully. The Scrum Master guides, facilitates, and teaches Scrum practices to everyone involved in the project; clears impediments for the team; and, ensures that Scrum processes are being followed.
Upon completion of this course, you will be eligible to take the Scrum Master certification exam, and gain the “SMC” designation.
What You Will Learn
This course will enable candidates to:
- Know the differences between agile and traditional (waterfall) project management methodologies
- Implement Scrum in an organization and avoid common pitfalls
- Lead the 4 key Scrum meetings including Sprint planning meeting, Daily stand ups, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective
- Support a team in managing a product backlog
- Create a Release plan
- Track key team metrics such as velocity and burn down
